Trauma Care

A Compassionate, Clinical, and Holistic Approach to Healing

At The Trauma Survivors Foundation, we understand that trauma doesn’t end when the crisis is over. It lingers in the body, mind, and spirit—changing the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world. That’s why we offer an integrative, trauma-informed care package built on clinical excellence and compassionate support.

Our services are rooted in evidence-based trauma therapy models and tailored to the unique needs of

Healthcare Professionals

Survivors of Complex, Acute, and Secondary Trauma

First Responders

  • Trauma-Focused, Person-Centered Therapy

Our licensed clinicians specialize in trauma-informed therapy, trained in:

    • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) – A frontline treatment for PTSD that targets the neurological imprint of trauma.

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Helps survivors reframe negative thought patterns associated with trauma.

    • Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) – Adapted for children, adolescents, and adults who experience trauma.

Each therapy session is tailored to the client’s pace and readiness, emphasizing safety, stabilization, and empowerment.

  • Shared Healing Through Connection

Group therapy offers survivors a unique opportunity to witness and be witnessed. Our groups are facilitated by trauma-trained clinicians and structured around shared experiences. We offer:

    • First Responder Resilience Groups

    • Healthcare Burnout and Moral Injury Recovery Groups

    • Grief and Loss Groups

    • PTSD and Complex Trauma Recovery Groups

These groups foster peer validation, promote new coping strategies, and remind each participant: you are not alone.

  • Immediate Stabilization and Psychological First Aid

Trauma doesn’t wait for convenience. Our crisis response teams are available to offer:

    • In-person and virtual Psychological First Aid (PFA)

    • Post-Incident Debriefing

    • Acute Stress Management

    • Rapid referral to long-term care

Our clinicians and peer teams are trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), an internationally recognized framework for reducing the impact of traumatic events.

We specialize in supporting First Responders, Emergency Room teams, and on-scene trauma exposure.

  • Healing Through Shared Experience

Survivors of trauma often find solace in connecting with others who have walked similar paths.

    Our peer support networks include:

    • Trained Peer Specialists – First Responders and Survivors with lived experience and professional training in trauma recovery.

    • Weekly Peer Circles – Open discussion forums moderated for safety and psychological integrity.

    • Mentorship Pairings – Matching trauma survivors with those further along in recovery.

Peer support is a cornerstone of trauma-informed care, emphasizing mutuality, empowerment, and nonjudgmental listening.

We provide workshops and continuing education seminars for survivors, families, and professionals.

    Topics include:

    • Couples Counseling

    • Family Therapy

    • Parenting Support for Traumatized Families

    • Support for Partners of First Responders and Healthcare Workers
